All things automotive
Project cars, how to video's, tech tips, car talk, off roading, road trips, car reviews, this channel is basically a mix of whatever I'm working on in my shop or doing for fun that has an automotive element to it. I have broad tastes and no real brand preference so you can expect to see nearly anything on the channel. I have big plans to grow the channel to offer an extensive array of help type video's for the do it yourselfers but I will be mixing in other content along the way to keep things exciting.
You can also check us out on Facebook, I’ve formed a group there where you can ask automotive questions, share pictures, stories & video’s about you cars.

This video is great. One thing I would add, it doesn’t take much to kink the brake lines. Its good practice to remove the caliper and the abs bolt first before doing the heavy stuff to avoid further damage. The angles in this video are superior to others, explanations were very clear.
How we will now dirt or dust here 😂 box already opened maybe u pit the this dirt 😂
Thankyou so much for information and help Thankyou
Very helpful, saved me loads of money doing it myself
Aluminum carbs transfer heat from intake manifold edelbrock has a few different wood phenolic spacers these tend to block heat transfer
I can't run any kind of a spacer, I'm already touching the hood. I have since lowered the float level and that helped immensely, seems they set it a little too high at the factory. I'm also running a cooler thermostat now and that helps as well. I drive the car in extreme cold temperatures all winter long, so the heat transfer helps me out then, I have a preheater on this engine and that way on a cold morning even the carburetor gets a little heat into it and it starts up like a summer's day.
Thanks! Nice clear explanation of an oil/filter change!
Why has this w124 got a shitty ford engine in it how insulting putting crap like that 8n a mercedes
Yes, having twice the power and a transmission that actually performs is really annoying.
I am also with you. Older cars are more 1. Durable 2.Reliable 3.Less Complicated etc
What about getting the strut aligned in the knuckle correctly to keep front end aligned?
Unless it has a camber bolt kit, there is no adjustment there.
thank you so much, i dont think i will take on this project for my 2006 pt cruiser by myself, such amazing skills to learn, good job man, question, how did you manage to clean out your tank from the debris we saw after you fully removed the pump.
I just vacuumed it out with a shop vac, I bailed most of the gas out first by hand with a little cup, and then just shop vac'ed the rest clean and dry.
You should use another piece of wood on top of the tires to reach the underbody of the vehicle nice and snug, for extra safety in case the jack should fail.
I recently bought a 2007 PT. It seems to be in good shape all around, rust free and clean. There's the question of the "special" antifreeze/coolant, that should be used in the Cruiser. Is this Zerex Coolant they're referring to? What would be the exact kind of coolant you would recommend? It sounds like you're well versed on the details of the functioning of this Chrysler brand.
I have always used the Napa universal, it's made by Zerex anyways.
@@CarswithNash Napa Universal, thanks for the info. I also read somewhere that Mopar 5 year 100,000 mile formula HOAT is a good bet?
I did it as you showed and it woks great. now my brakes work smoothly for 2 months. also important to make your pads smoothly , especially after you change them. thanks
Excellent! Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback.
Mine just started popping the caset tape out I use to play music off my phone and won’t stay in. I’ll try this tomorrow thanks!
I stop using the oil on the K and N, because the mass air flow always gets dirty by the oil.
Push down on the grill and out.
I heard if your top rad hose is hot to the touch, but the lower one is not, it means the radiator is clogged. Thats how mine is. It overheats if i push 70, but cools down if i slow down. Then i felt hoses and the lower one was much cooler.
Don't forget to lube your brake pads on install to prevent them from grinding down your rotor
That's okay maybe next time bro waiting for your next one. ❤
I have a lot of experience with angle grinders and I'm not saying this is impossible. But I say if you are not really handy with one of these things, you better be light to the touch with it or you will make this thing wavier than it was when it started. I'm all for doing s*** like this though. But my idea which I haven't tried yet is bolting the rotor to the axle and then putting it in gear and spinning it slowly and holding a sanding block to it. I don't know this. Seems like it'd work okay though
I replaced my rear beam axle on my 05 Pt Cruiser. Do I need to aajust the alignment of the axle? Thanks
I don't believe there's any adjustment. The only way you can adjust that is to put shims behind the hubs on the end of the axle, but typically that is not done unless something got bent.
Thank you, I wasn't sure just wanted to check.
Bro its only $60 to get it done 100% correct
You are preciousn oriented ❤
Thanks.
Great video
Thank you.
does it need an aligment after the replacement
I love you for making this, this is my repair for tomorrow. Bless you brother thanks
Thanks, I appreciate hearing that. Good luck with your repair.
@@CarswithNash it looks way easier then I thought, was expecting to need to remove the rotors but thankfully not on the Hyundai
🙄🤦♂️ Km just going to go based on engineering and safety from modern day race cars that cars today are 99% safer then older cars. if they were not the amount of people dieing in race cars would be so high they would have to stop. Cars are meant to take the full force of the crash.
You clearly didn't understand a word of my video.
Great video. I have a 2002 Limited and whenever I’m curious about some thing on it I always look to see if you have created a video for it. Thanks🚙💨
That's so nice to hear. At one time I had a goal to cover every single repair on a PT Cruiser with a video, I definitely fell short, but glad people are finding the ones I did get made helpful.
Just wanted to say a huge thanks Matt, video helped a hell of a lot and was easy to follow. My CV ended up luckily being even easier as it came with the longer shaft so only needed to do the mounting brackets to remove. But a great video nonetheless. Cheers.
Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback.
What’s the thing with the yellow lid
I was just given a pt and now I’m Trina learn everything there is about a pt 😅
That's the brake fluid reservoir.
Great. How do you find the power source to activate the pump??
That I could not help you with, sorry. There must be a fuse for it.
Thank u so much for explaining better , I have a question though: how do you remove a seazed lower control bolt
Seized bolts I normally heat up with a MAPP gas torch and then put some penetrating oil on the threads and the heat will pull it in.
Subscribed! I'm not a mechanic or even a car guy really but you seem very knowledgeable and explain things very thoroughly. I just had a pt cruiser given to me and it has a cooling issue so I've been watching every thing I can find on them and I have to say you have by far done the best at explaining things, thank you
That's nice to hear. Thank you for subscribing.
Years ago, I was going to get one for an "upgrade" people in the car forum were talking about but my Dad told me these would not filter the air as good. I guess he is right.
Nice that you showed how to remove the cover NOT!
Not sure what you're talking about, I showed every step in detail.
Thank you Matt for all of the PT Cruisers videos, I wish the best, may God bless you.
Thank you, I appreciate that.
Nicely done!
Thanks!(-:
I just purchased a 2005 Toyota Avalon Limited with 82,500 miles. I have it for a week and a half and I love it. Just watching your review, I honestly feel like you're just nitpicking about everything. The car is very comfortable it's fast it's luxurious and it handles the road really well. The trunk is massive and you can store a lot in the trunk. And for a 2005 I honestly think that the body style still fits in with today's style of cars. You are honestly just making up things that you don't like. I can tell you are a very picky person
Glad you're enjoying your car. Different people like different things.
👍👍👍 Thank you very much. Lots of carbon build up the sensor.
I like how you are very detailed in your videos. thanks. I've seen several.
I appreciate that, thanks.
Great detail video about PT cruiser possible problems. And most of the work I try to do myself unless it’s a big job like you were discussing earlier about the timing belt and all the other components. I take that to the shop because it is time consuming for me to do that, but everything else I’ve had pretty good luck with and like I said, the car still runs strong And I intend to keep it until it dies
Great to hear and i'm glad this video has been helpful to so many.
Totally educational. If the weather gets like that in Ireland, we don't go out, let alone work at cars!
Thanks! I actually hate the winter weather, but sometimes there's no choice.
Do you still have the car?@@CarswithNash
@andyarmstrong1493 Nope, sold it after less then a year of ownership. It was actually about the worst vehicle i've ever owned.
@@CarswithNash Still got mine 4 years in 147k, 2.2 diesel, love it!
@andyarmstrong1493 Yes some people have luck with them. I did later find out mine was used for a rental for the first year of it's life... Still I bought it with 149,000kms, only added 11,000 and you can see how many repair videos it generated in that short of a time. I went back to driving older cars, I seem to have a lot better luck with them.
Great Video! Thanks from Germany
Take the back seat out And replace my fuel pump
ola cual es el numero o codigo de los bearing???
Good job on description. Because for that filter cap I was going to use a crescent wrench. Good stuff
Thanks, I appreciate that.
It's my turn to try to do the same to the summer rims.....so looking forward to it 😂😂
Good job Matt, video is crystal clear and sound is perfect.
Thanks. I appreciate hearing that.
This is amazing man thank you
Rip my transmission
Oh? What happened?
